Santa Cruz de Tenerife
Santa Cruz de Tenerife is a port city and the capital of the island of Tenerife, located on the northeast coast. Surrounded by exotic lush green gardens and squares, filled with historical sites and museums, this city has to offer much more entertainment to its visitors.

Every year, Santa Cruz de Tenerife dresses in its best to welcome the Carnival - the brightest and most significant in all of Europe! In terms of its scale, Canarian Carnival ranks second in the world after Rio. Its program begins in mid-February and lasts almost a month, attracting a vast number of tourists.

In addition to the carnival procession, Santa Cruz has one more attraction that twice a year brings masses of people to the capital - the time of seasonal sales (from early January to late February and from early July to late August). Huge shopping malls within the city limits and entire streets of shops and boutiques offer discounts up to 80%, attracting hundreds of thousands of people!

In addition to shopping centres, the city is also known for its:
  • Museums (Historical Military Museum of the Canary Islands, Archaeological Museum of Nature and Man, TEM Museum of Contemporary Art, Museum of Fine Arts);

  • Historical architectural monuments (Castle of San Cristobal, Black Castle of San Juan Batista, Tower of San Andres, Fort Castillo Negro);

  • Religious buildings (Church of the Immaculate Conception, Church of St. Francis of Assisi in the Baroque style, Church of St. Joseph, Masonic Temple)

  • A monument of modern architecture - the building of the Opera Auditorio de Tenerife, consisting of a chamber and a symphony hall, the acoustics of which is considered one of the best in the world. This building is world-famous.

  • Picturesque squares, green parks and unique botanical gardens.

A few kilometres from the city is the Las Teresitas beach, which is considered one of the most beautiful and famous beaches in the archipelago.
Diving and water sports centres are in great demand, as the coast of Santa Cruz is known for its magnificent coral reefs, underwater caves, and the Carbonero wreck's remains.

Santa Cruz de Tenerife also has the most important seaport of the Canary Islands and one of the most significant in the Atlantic Ocean. Next to this port is the famous building of the Auditorio de Tenerife, which is considered one of the island's most iconic sights.
