The city is also famous for its open-air swimming pool complex Lago Martianez. The complex looks more like an artificial beach, in which reservoirs are filled with seawater, and their depth depends on the ocean level (at low tide, it becomes shallower). The area of the aqua complex is about 100,000 m² centred around an artificial lake with islets on which palm trees and flower shrubs grow.
