Masca is a tiny village, lost in a gorge among sheer cliffs and shrouded in legends about pirate treasures.
Despite its tiny size (only over 100 locals live in Mask), this splendid "pirate village" ranks second in popularity after visiting the Teide volcano.
There are two main attractions here. The first is an awe-inspiring downhill ride to the village by car along a serpentine road (which twistiness might require from you incredible self-control or even medicine for nausea). And the second entertainment is going all the way down from Maska's gorge to the bottom of the pirate ravine to the ocean. The road takes approximately 3-4 hours but is not finishing there — then you will have a boat trip to the nearby resort town of Los Gigantes "accompanied" by whales and dolphins living in the local waters. There are more than 20 species of cetaceans here, which are a trues pleasure to watch!
